Préambule :
I believe it is important to explain something about the name of the radio that does not really sound " french ". But the project is completely French. The majority of the 33 founding members are French. A few are of other European countries (England 1, Holland 1, Switerland 2). Eve in France is a french radio project, that will be made by and for french men and women.
2008
The year of 2008 is a year of hope for France. The project intends to get a licence for the entire 19 cities opened to digital radio : Angers, Bordeaux, Brest, Clermond Ferrand, Dijon, Le Mans, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Metz, Nancy, Nantes, Nice, Paris, Rennes, Rouen, Strasbourg, Toulouse, et Tours. These cities cover 32% of the population at once. That is the hope for step one of the project.
Digiatl radio also has some handicaps at first. Like the need to change radio sets. That should occur rather fast as compared to other European countries. For example in England there are over 8 million digital receivers since it's start. Analogic radio is doomed, it's just a matter of time. The faster analogic radio stops the easier it will be for digital radio which will naturally take over for many years. As the number of potential stations will increase Eve in France will also need a lot of advertising to get known. That need is included in the business plan. Additional expenses are also included in order get Eve in France on satellite and on the web, which will help avoid the handicap of an eventual slow equipment with new digital radio receivers.
And after that .. in 2011 there will be a possibility to extend the licence to anaother 12 cities : : Ajaccio, Avignon, Bastia, Caen, Grenoble, Lens, Montpellier, Mulhouse, Orléans, Pau, Reims, Saint Etienne, Toulon, et Valenciennes. Later on the zones of reception will be extended progressively to cover the blind spots around the big cities. What a hope for future development.
And what about the programs ?
Well if you want to know more about them you will have to become a member. What we believe is that EVE in France will be known and appreciated in France because it's programs will create a link between generations and between the french people.
The journalistic approch will be completely new for Christian radio in France as it will bring the christian point of view and reflect christian values mostly ignored by french men and women. Our journalists and partners will promote that.
Well I hope that through this résumé you realise why EVE in France will go commercial. The financial needs are very high to get started but also to pursue the project. Our estimation is that we need at least 500000 Euros to get started. And we believe it can be done.
If you have any questions please ask !
And please tell your freinds about our needs.
And then what ?.... why not EVE in Europe ? God knows !
Thankyou,
Alan Bonset,
founder.
